I have never been that sort of cook because as a Farm Fresh Tess type cook I actually enjoy making everything from scratch. She was able to make them taste about the same, but much easier and we all loved them! She was throwing together those easy-peasy five-ingredient meals back when all the other country cooks were working hard to make dishes more difficult than they had to be. It wasn’t until reading the original Trim Healthy Mama book that I figured out my mom was really a Drive Thru Sue!īorn out of season, so to speak, she “specialized” in making wonderful meals that were based on quick to fix recipes. It worked splendidly and my husband, the “fudge lovingest” guy of all time is insisting that it is almost as good as regular fudge, a little different, but almost indiscernible in it’s smooth, sweet, and creamy chocolate way! ![]() This fudge was adapted by just messing around with sweetener, cream, and Lily’s chocolate chips. ![]() My mom and I would try to see who could sign up for the fudge first at gatherings and I only recently discovered that I might have been the only one in the family with whom she’d shared that recipe. Like this version, the original had to be made ahead and needed chill time, but when it was done you had a first class fudge that could not have been easier. These yummy ingredients were microwaved and poured into a dish lined with plastic wrap then nuts were added and it was chilled. It’s based on a recipe that my mom gave me years ago and was basically semisweet chips, condensed sweetened milk, and flavorings.
